October Daily Shots
October marked days 271 through 302 in my 365 project. There were some fun shots here and several that have more of a story to them. Here are the thumbnails (click one to see scroll them in a larger version):
Stories behind some of the images:
Took a photowalk at Rio Vista Park in Peoria, AZ and shot the shadows and geometric shapes of this bridge I just loved. I converted it to a black/white tone to enhance the effect.
October is baseball playoff time and the Detroit Tigers played against the Yankees this year.
Got some new Polaroid film so had to try it out and my good-looking but goofy son graciously posed for me.
another prop I picked up a local auction. Now I need to set up a photoshoot with models to use it!
a self portrait after returning from Dolce Salon with all my gray hairs beautifully covered up!
I have come a long way in my photo processing and design skills, much of which I have thank Steve Jobs and his Apple products. Today he passed away and I wanted to give some sort of tribute and thanks to a great visionary and pioneer.
We took a drive up towards Flagstaff, Arizona. It was a beautiful day and we stopped along a forest road to picnic where I got this shot.
Each year in downtown phoenix local artists come together to sell bowls they have created and all the proceeds go to help feed the hungry. This is the bowl I purchased this year.
We took a ride on the downtown Phoenix Light Rail today and I snapped this pic with my iPhone.
Laundry day often turns into "sock wars" as the newly folded socks get thrown down the hallways and around the house at each other in a family fun game of 'sock wars.'
Had one of my images from the "shoe calendar" series printed and framed. It looks great and can't wait to hang it in the house!
I coulnd't sleep but as I laid in bed I suddenly realized I hadn't taken my shot of the day. So grabbed my iphone and took this shot of the digital clock on teh dresser.
These two images were taken of my coworkers for a skit we did at Halloween. I had asked them to look depressed at their desk and they really knew how to turn it on. My Department had recdently moved to a newly remodeled area of the building and these two were still working in an area that was in desperate need of new carpet and paint (at least!) So our skit basically revolved around that. It was really fun to put together and they were all good sports about it.

I ran across this handmade sign in a thrift store. It brought back a lot of memories so I had to get a photo of it. Artex is a paint that comes in a tube sort of like a small tube of toothpaste, with a rollerball style tip. You then use the tube to paint directly onto fabric, paper canvas, almost anything really. My "Granny Rene" used to use these all the time in her hand made quilts. She was quite an eccentric old lady but we loved her. This made me smile thinking of her.
